Daw Kyi Kyi Nyein
Founder and Chair of Advice

Daw Kyi Kyi Nyein is the Founder and Chair of Advice of Entrepreneurship Development Network Asia (EDNA) Myanmar Co., Ltd., A Social Enterprise and An Education Organization. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics.), Postgraduate Diploma in Management and Administration, Master of Public Administration, Superior Diploma in Abhidhamma and Ti kar Kyaw (Honorary level in Abhidhamma). She also attended numerous programs on sustainable development, migration, and education.

Since 1998, she has owned and operated a range of small and medium businesses in the Trading, Retail, and Distribution sector with particular expertise in traditional handicraft, fast moving consumer goods, lingerie, brand fragrances, and fashion accessories. She also has extensive experience in Public Relations, Branding, and Events management. Together with her team, she developed Myanmar radio program contents for MM Live FM 96.75 Maha Chai Thailand from 2011- 2014 in collaboration with International Labour Organization, local CBOs, and companies in Myanmar. Since 2006 she had launched and managed numerous social projects including Panna Arrman (education project), Metta (immediate relief), Arrman Thit (early rehabilitation) and Craft Myanmar (strengthening cultural identity and working with craft entrepreneurs for innovative product designs and new market creation).  She was also an Executive Committee Member of the Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs’ Association for nearly 10 years before establishing a local NGO called Moving Forward Together where she is the Program Director for Economic and Social Empowerment of Women. She is also the Scriptwriter and Program Director for Educational Biography Comic Book project, implemented by MFT, Funded by The Nippon Foundation.

Outside the business arena, Daw Kyi Kyi Nyein has had extensive teaching experience. In 2003-2004, she taught part-time at the University of Distant Education. She also taught Professional Development Courses at various business organizations and NGOs since 2003. She was also an understudy teacher with Su Htoo Pan Abhidhamma Centre for three years and taught fundamental Abhidhamma. Since 2014 she has coached and mentored over 150 mentors to inspire and mentor grass root entrepreneurs across Myanmar, a project funded by LIFT and implemented by EDNA Myanmar and Sydney University Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program. As part of her work with EDNA Myanmar, she also conducts numerous workshops at the Ministry of Commerce as well as Ministries of Industries, Department of SME. Daw Kyi Kyi Nyein now applies her experience and expertise in her role as project consultant and advisor to both local and foreign entities in the private sector.
